CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS

For an elegant color portrait It's best to wear more formal attire such as suits/ tuxedos or gowns or formal dresses in jewel tones like emerald green and ruby red. This will create an air of sophistication and elegance that will elevate your photos and make them look their best. When choosing clothing for a portrait session, try to avoid clashing shades or busy patterns -these can be distracting in photographs. If possible, also coordinate with other family members so that everyone looks cohesive.

When it comes to hair and makeup, keep in mind that less is more. I recommend using a professional makeup and hair stylist.  A natural look with a little bit of glamour will be great for your formal portrait. Avoid heavy foundation or overly bold eyeshadow -- these can often appear too harsh in pictures and take away from the subtle beauty of the photograph. If you are looking for an extra touch of elegance, try adding some soft curls to your hair or a classic updo like a chignon or French twist. For makeup, stick to light colors such as bronze and a hint of color on lips and cheeks. Remember that subtlety is key here -- you want your true beauty to come through.

Accessorize your outfit with a few statement pieces like bold jewelry or even better an heirloom piece to add interest and legacy to your portrait.

BLACK AND WHITE ATTIRE

Choose attire with a timeless, classic look. Avoid overly trendy or flashy items that can date your portrait quickly. Opt for simple, solid colors like black, white and dark gray for both men and women that will look sophisticated and ensure your photo looks great for years to come.

Stick to classic silhouettes when selecting your wardrobe for the shoot. Think tailored pieces such as suits, blazers and trousers for men; and dresses, skirts and blouses with structured lines for women. This will create a polished aesthetic in the portrait that never goes out of style.

Pay attention to small details when choosing accessories such as jewelry, ties or scarves – they should complement the clothing but not be too obviously 'matching'. For men specifically - consider wearing a vest or waistcoat as these offer added dimension in an otherwise monochromatic photograph.
